Now the village is preparing to welcome two new formative experiences: Astro Summer Camp and Contemporary Paths.
On June 27, the second edition of the Summer School "Desf4Future", a training project that has been able to combine a rigorous training course with an immersion in the beauty and history of the charming village of Cerisano. Promoted by the Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance of the University of Calabria, the project was strongly wanted by the Municipal Administration of Cerisano, led by the mayor Lucio Di Gioia. The initiative involved 30 students worthy of the 4th year of the Calabrian high schools, selected from over 60 applications from 17 schools throughout the region.
For six days, the rooms of the ducal palace were transformed into workshops of ideas, reflections and comparisons, in an intensive experience that alternated frontal lessons, data analysis, simulations and moments of collective sharing. A real "cantiere di formazione" that, starting from the village, saw its conclusion in the university campus, giving the boys a first taste of the academic world. Between 21 statistical surveys conducted in group, testimonies from the world of work and guided paths in the village, the young participants were able to experience the concrete value of the scientific method applied to the reality surrounding them.
An experience that has left the mark, as emphasized by the same first citizen, Lucio Di Gioia «A formative moment not only from an academic point of view, but also addressed to the territory – said the mayor of Cerisano – who brought awareness to the children, causing them to curiosity, to know and discover a village that, for many, was first only a name on a map, and now is a place lived, recognized and felt.» A territory – in fact – that becomes protagonist, thanks to the rich project "Cerisano Factory", supported by the funds of the PNRR – Next Generation EU that fits into the widest strategy of cultural and social relaunch of the village and that will animate the cerisanese summer placing itself among the highlights appointments of the preview of the 31st edition of the Festival delle Serre – financed by the Calabria Region through the funds PAC 2014/2020 – Action 6.8.3 "AttivitÃ3 "
The goal is to enhance Cerisano as a place of culture, opportunities and beauty, where formation meets the rediscovery of the roots. Collaboration with the academic world is a concrete opportunity for economic, social and cultural revival. It means countering dispopulation, attracting young people and talents, enhancing the local heritage and generating new economy. This is the added value of the intervention carried out by Mayor Di Gioia, a "swing" that is the engine of regeneration, innovation and cohesion, creating bridges between training, research and territory.
And precisely in the sign of this continuity, the rudder now passes to two other extraordinary appointments. From 13 to 18 July, from collaboration with the Departments of Physics of the UniCal and the spin off academic Mission to the Cube, the Astro Summer Camp, an immersive experience for space explorers and stars. Six days of astronomical observations, practical workshops, science and imagination, to discover the universe with new eyes. A different and fascinating way to talk to the boys, making them feel protagonists of a discovery that unites heaven and earth, science and dream. To participate visit www.missionealcubo.com . From 21 to 27 July, finally, the first edition of the "Corso di formazione in Linguaggi dello spectacle e della comunicazione – Percorsi del Contemporaneo", promoted by the Department of Humanities Studies (DiSU) of the University of Calabria. The course is aimed at students interested in deepening the practices and theories related to the languages of entertainment and communication. The activities will be organized in daily theoretical focus, held by experienced teachers in the field of theatre, music and communication, and in afternoon practical yards, conducted by professionals in the field. An innovative format that brings the boys back to the walls of Palazzo Sersale in an experience that combines academic training, workshops and participation in the life of the village. Cerisano confirms itself as a laboratory of the future, in which education becomes a development engine, and culture is not an event but a continuous process that grows, transforms, and... amazes.
