Cerisano consolidates its role as a place for training, innovation and new opportunities for young Calabrians. The third edition of the Summer School Des4future, hosted in the village from 14 to 19 June, confirms the choice of the Administration led by the mayor Lucio Di Gioia investing in culture, knowledge and ability of small centers to become living spaces of growth and experimentation.

The inaugural day was not only the presentation of a training course, but a real comparison of the value of projects capable of redeveloping villages through school, university, research and involvement of local communities.

Cerisano invests in youth and innovation

Talking about future and innovation in a small centre is a complex challenge, but Cerisano has chosen to face it by building a vision that looks at the new generations and the relationship between territory, formation and development.

The Summer School Des4future is part of a broader project, through which the municipality aims to redevelop and repopulate the village by enhancing culture, skills, material and immaterial heritage. The goal is to attract students, teachers, researchers, enthusiasts and academics, transforming Cerisano into a functional pole not only to the country, but to the entire regional territory.

The presence of the magnificent rector of the University of Calabria, Gianluigi Greco, has given further institutional strength to the initiative, confirming the relationship of collaboration between the athene and the village. A link based on the valorisation of young people and the ability to network schools, universities, institutions, families and communities.

The applause of Unical and the Regional School Office

The work carried out by the Administration Di Gioia received the applause of the Greek rector and the general manager of the Regional School Office for Calabria, Loredana Giannicola.

In the course of the meeting the value of a model has been emphasized that aims to build a sort of «widespread university», capable of making small centres in the areas of advanced training, comparison and innovation.

The leader of Usr Calabria has highlighted Cerisano’s ability to propose itself as a pole of excellence, enhancing the culture of merit and offering students an experience capable of approaching them to the university world already during the course of high schools.
