Cerisano is transformed into a site of creativity with the training course "Percorsi del contemporaneo", realized in collaboration with the University of Calabria.
CERISANO (COSENZA) – There is a village that turns into a laboratory, a classroom that expands between alleys, historic buildings and squares, and a new generation of students ready to measure themselves with the languages of contemporary entertainment. It is in this scenario that takes place "Percorsi del Contemporaneo", the new course of formation in Language of the Show and Communication promoted by the Department of Humanities Studies of the University of Calabria (DiSU), in collaboration with the Municipality of Cerisano. Five days of study in the heart of Cerisano, from 13 to 18 July, to build new skills and visions in the field of entertainment and communication.
Cerisano becomes "cantire of creativity": with the Unical born Percorsi del Contemporaneo
Cerisano changes skin and confirms the living space of contemporary culture. Not simple frame, but active protagonist: a real "Cantiere della Creativity" where theory and practice intertwine, and where the territory becomes a formative device. To coordinate the project is Carlo Fanelli, who leads an initiative designed for university students already enrolled in three-year or master's degree courses, eager to deepen the languages of the show in an immersive and experimental dimension.
Free training and credit selection
To make even more significant the project is the presence of 15 scholarships, made available by the Municipality of Cerisano and the University of Calabria, which will allow the most worthy participants to access the course for free. A concrete investment on talent and new generations. The call is open to students and students of any Italian university, provided they are enrolled for the academic year 2025/2026 and motivated to deepen the disciplines of entertainment and communication.
Between theory and laboratories: the formula of "Cantieri"
The training course will be marked in two complementary moments. The morning will be dedicated to theoretical insights, to build solid foundations and critical tools. In the afternoon, however, you will enter the heart of the experience: the "Cantieri", creative and operational laboratories led by professionals of the sector. A formative model that aims to overcome the frontal lesson, transforming the study into production, experimentation, direct comparison with the practices of contemporary entertainment.
Palazzo Sersale, cultural hub of the village
To host the students will be the suggestive Palazzo Sersale, now consolidated cultural hub of the territory. Its structures will welcome the participants also in residential mode, thanks to the guesthouse, making the experience even more immersive and community. A place that is not only a container, but an integral part of the creative process: meeting space, confrontation and construction of new narratives.
The municipality of Cerisano and Unical give life to a workshop for the professions of show
The goal is clear: to form the new figures of show and communication, intercepting the deep transformations that are going through theatre, performing arts and audiovisual languages. Cerisano, already crossed by artistic flows and continuous cultural initiatives for years, is thus confirmed a strategic node of contemporary creativity, able to attract talent and generate stable cultural processes.
Contemporary Paths: Expiry Applications for Admission
Applications for admission must be submitted by 1 June 2026. All information is available on the website of the Department of Humanities Studies of the University of Calabria. Not only a course, therefore, but a totalizing experience: five days to enter the heart of the contemporary show, where knowledge meets the scene and the village becomes future.
