Mayor Lucio Di Gioia presents the rich billboard "From New York to Buenos Aires". Major international artists and the Brutia Symphony Orchestra will animate the historic center.
Cerisano is preparing to live an extraordinary July: Palazzo Sersale and Piazzetta Chiocciola become the heart of a musical journey through continents, cultures and sound languages. The official inn of the municipality tells a very rich program, which brings international artists, symphonic orchestras and sounds ranging from New York jazz to Buenos Aires tango, passing through the great European tradition. All appointments are at 21:30, free admission, and make up a musical path that embraces three continents:
Lauren Henderson quintet – International JazzPiazzetta Chiocciola – July 8th; Orchestra Sinfonica Brutia – Alma de TangoPalazzo Sersale – July 10; OSB – Bossa Nova always para with Serena Lionetto, Palazzo Sersale – July 17th; OSB – The Four Seasons of Vivaldi with Manuel Arlia, Palazzo Sersale – July 19, Quartet Basilico – Quagliero – What’s Next, Piazzetta Chiocciola – July 20; Dave Schroeder & Antonio Figure – A kind and gentle light, Piazzetta Chiocciola – July 21, and finally OSB – Besame Cuba with Alessia D’Andrea, Palazzo Sersale – July 30. A sign that confirms Cerisano as one of the most lively cultural centers of Calabria, able to attract artists, orchestras and national and international productions.
The project "From New York to Buenos Aires" was born from the cultural vision of the Municipality and Cerisano Borgo Swing Factory, which in recent years have transformed the village into a permanent musical workshop, with artistic residences, festivals, masterclasses and original productions. The two chosen locations – Palazzo Sersale and Piazzetta Chiocciola – represent the historical and identity of the country, places that in recent years have hosted concerts, shows and exhibitions becoming symbols of the cultural rebirth of Cerisano. The festival of the Serre, moreover, between previews and expectations, fully summarizes this concept.
«Cerisano continues to grow as a village of music and culture. This billboard is a journey through the world and brings extraordinary artists, different languages and new opportunities to meet in our country. In July Palazzo Sersale and Piazzetta Chiocciola become important stages: it is the sign of a living community, which believes in the beauty and strength of culture. We are waiting for you all in Cerisano», the words and the message of the first citizen, Lucio Di Gioia.
A whole month of music, emotions and artistic contaminations: this is also Cerisano.
