From 20 to 30 May the village hosts the artistic residence dedicated to contemporary photography between formation, memory and history of the territory
Inside the shot of a photo is hidden the beauty of a moment that remains eternal. So Cerisane posing in the initiative ‘Volti del Borgo’ within the framework of the project ‘Residence of Artist on Contemporary Photography’ which 20 to 30 May will transform the village into the inspirational muse of the participating photographers.
Fifteen members from every latitude of Calabria and Italy to offer Cerisano a portrait of its beauties, its peculiarities, among the walls of the houses, the colors of the churches. For ten days, photographers will immerse themselves in the streets of the village, holding a story among the faces of passersby, in historical archives, forming and creating at the same time. A project – funded by the Ministry of Culture – which fully expresses the mission of the Administration of Gioia, that is to make training and culture the driving force behind the requalification of a village.
Cerisano is rediscovered through the objectives of cosmopolitan artists, able to open this small treasure chest and trace its richness. Volti del Borgo will be edited by Attilio Lauria and followed by the Associazione Rete Cinema Calabria. The Presentation of the Artist Residence will be planned for Wednesday 20 May at 6.30 p.m. at Palazzo Sersale in a meeting open to the public.
To preside at the start of the initiative Chairman of Rete Cinema Calabria, Ivana Russo and Curator of the Residence, Attilio Lauria. There will be no miss the greetings of the mayor, Lucio Di Gioia, who will welcome the fifteen artists in those that are the walls of the house, trusting that this project can return to Cerisano the photograph of the effort in the rebirth of this village.
